After deciding to lead the World Race, I anxiously awaited which squad I would be leading, where I would be going, and who the co-leader would be that I would be doing life with for four months. We were told that another male leader was needed so no “partnerships” would be made until that happened. During a virtual meeting, we prayed for another male leader to be thrown into the mix. A few days later, I was introduced to Mike Sanders via email. While the other World Race leaders for the fall squads were on p-squad with me and have known each other for a year, Mike & I had never met. My thoughts were something like…”you mean I’m about to go lead 51 people with someone I don’t know? Awesome.” I’ll admit that I was a bit apprehensive to diving into a completely transparent and open friendship with someone that was a stranger 24 hours earlier.

But
I love that God gives exactly what we need.

Have you ever been introduced to someone and, immediately upon meeting them, knew that they were going to be used to impact your life in a very big way? That’s the impression I got when I met Mike in person. In all senses of the word, he’s legit. Mike’s a man that I gladly respect and follow, because his heart is one that beats for the things that are of the Lord.

God has placed it on my heart to advocate for him while he continues to raise support.

Here are a few things that you should know about Mike:

He’s maybe the most creative person I’ve met. Honestly.

He isn’t threatened by calling out greatness in others because he knows the depth of his own.

He’s been raising money to provide for children that he met in Kenya, while trusting the Lord to provide for his own meals daily. Oh, hey selflessness.
(this is a picture of some of their artwork during his stay in Kenya, it says “this hand will work to see to it that you are taken care of”)

His dancing skills are possibly the goofiest thing I’ve ever seen. Which is awesome, because I’ve been known to smash a few toes on the dance floor 🙂

He’s a visionary.

He has faith that will move mountains.

He’s basically just really cool.

& he needs your help.

I need him standing with me in decisions on the field. B-squad needs his spunk, wisdom, and voice.

So, if you’ve been questioning where the men of this generation are, here is one that’s blazing a path for others. If you’re looking to invest in someone that’s a world-changer, he’s your man!
