Launch (the first week on the field) was a week of teachings, worship, and pouring a lot of love into the 50 racers on B-squad. It was such an amazing yet exhausting week! Mike and I started the week off with praying & asking for words for each racer on our squad. God showed up in crazy ways and spoke so many things that I can’t even remember because the words just started flowing, but they struck a lot of hearts. I was stretched in a lot of ways and filled with so much joy to start this journey.
Our first “adventure” (every day on the WR is quite the adventure) with the squad was hiking a volcano (Mt Pacaya); it was our first lesson in positivity because we left at 5:45 am, took an hour long crazy bus ride, and it rained pretty much the entire 3 hour hike :). But, it was so much fun! It cleared just long enough for us to get an amazing view of the mountains and other volcanoes when we reached the top. We also roasted marshmallows and climbed inside a cave, so we were technically inside the volcano. It was HOT! I got a free facial from all the steam though so that’s cool. We also found a flat rock to stand upon and declared some things about the restoration that God has for Guatemala and what this year will hold. So good!
