I’ve been silent on here for awhile. Life on the race has hard. I have been sick for two months. It started in Nepal, where I went to more hospitals than I did ministry days. I’ll spare you all the gory details and just say I’m not doing well. So, I’m going home to get medical treatment in the hopes of coming back on the race.

The decision to go home was not easy. Lots of prayer, hard conversations, and doctors visits have gone into this. This sickness is not God’s plan. He desires to wipe every tear and bind every broken heart His word makes that ABUNDANTLY clear. So, I know His daughter suffering for two months is not His idea. He knew this would happen, but He did not ordain it, plan it, or put this on me. My God is a faithful, hope filled God. He doesn’t abandon us, quit loving us, or stop forgiving us.

He desires for His kids to reflect His character to others, so I know He did not call me to the race to have me stop half way through. My God put on flesh to take away my sin. He sat in a garden asking to have hardship taken away from Him. When the hardship remained Jesus endured the cross, revealing our Father’s faithfulness to us despite our sinful, selfishness. Time and time again in the scriptures as people pursue healing they find Jesus. Some of them found healing instantly after humbling themselves before Jesus. For others it was a process that He empowered them to begin. Each time Jesus sees them, hears them, and draws near to them. Jesus is doing the same for me. I’m humbling myself before Him, feeling His heart close to mine.

In my current state I’m worn and weary so I would love your prayers. Pray for me as I go home to be poked and prodded. Pray for my team I’ve lived everyday with them for almost six months and we now have to spend time apart before I can return. Pray I find healing for my body, rest for my soul, and fuel for my mind. Pray for my family it can be scary business to have someone you love need to come home from overseas for sickness. Finally, pray I can return to my people ASAP in a healthy body.
