It’s been a minute since I’ve blogged and I know there’s constantly been so much going on in the world around us but I thought I might share some of my insights and thoughts with you all.
In troubling times, whether it’s on a large scale with things such as the Coronavirus and the rising political climate of our nation right now or if it’s the smaller scale troubles of our individual lives, here’s what I ALWAYS remind myself of right off the bat:
your. feelings. are. valid.
whatever you feel, in whatever situation, you have a right to your emotions and whatever it is that we feel, is a-okay.
The second thing I remind myself of is that there is a God who is SO much bigger than me and He is always always working things out for GOOD. I find it so comforting to know that there is something happening that is so much bigger than my own efforts and that the Creator of every single thing I see around me is always fighting for me.
“For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.”
Deuteronomy 20:4
Defender by UPPERROOM (such a good song about that^ that I hold fast to)
The third thing that I have been reminding myself of lately that I think I forget about very easily is that I don’t have to carry the weight of my circumstances on my own. Lately, I have had such a heavy heart over so many things going on and getting exhausted at the end of each day, trying to fix it on my own and actively doing things to try to help myself while forgetting the most important. Talking to my Father who CARES. Our heavenly Father who sits in heaven, watching over all creation, sits there and thinks about ME, cares about ME, and wants to help ME. He actively yearns for me to pour my heart out to Him and to talk to Him about what it is that I’m going through. And even more than that, all of the weight that I feel is weight that He wants to take on for Himself so that I don’t have to pain through it on my own.
The Comfortable Words:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
So take heart that what we feel is okay, God himself is working it out, and He wants you to talk to Him about it and ease your burden. He cares.
