Hi All!
My name is Sofia Obermaier and this is my first blog post relating to all things about my World Race: Gap Year. This post is a fun one for you to get to know a little bit about me. I am so excited about this upcoming chapter of my life and all of the things it will bring but am also learning so much from now until launch day. The waiting road to that day will be an interesting one that I will entail lots of fundraising and prayer to prepare myself for the journey ahead. I hope you can come alongside me in support through donating, spreading the word, and lots and lots of prayer!!
Since the main point of this post to find out some more about ME, here are some fun facts about myself 🙂
- The basics: I am 17 years old and a senior at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy
- I speak fluent Spanish, am fully Peruvian from both of my parents, and have almost all of my family in Peru so I’ve been there a lot growing up.
- I love to surf! My dad taught me how to surf when I was little and it took me a while to get into it. And I’m still not really that good but I can stand up so it counts! and it’s fun!
- I also love to paint. I’ve done a huge mural in my room, canvases, and basically anything I can get my hands on that needs some color.
- My favorite place to eat is Blaze Pizza because they have the best vegan cheese and pineapple pizza. And yes, pineapple belongs on pizza.
- I am also a vegetarian and try to be very conscious about everything I eat and use to be environmentally friendly. save the earth!
- I love my family! My dog, May, and my niece, Aurora are probably the 2 most adorable and loveable things I’ve ever met. My brother and sister are both older and have always been big influences in my life and my parents are both fantastic people.
- Last but definitely not least: I love the Lord! I have been on a long and incredible journey as I walk with Christ but I also know He is just getting started. My church family has been a huge support all throughout my life and I can’t wait to expand my kingdom family and meet more brothers and sisters in Christ.
