It has been a hot minute since I got back from my training camp and so much has gone on between then and now. But I finally found time to sit down and write to you all. It wasn’t a hard task to write this one though, because the things I learned are unforgettable.
1. Sometimes our issue isn’t learning to love God but letting God love us
2. We need to stop saying sorry to God and start saying thank you
3. You can go 10 days with one shower. And that one shower happened to be a bucket shower
4. You really can become as close as family to people if you just allow yourself to be vulnerable
5. Rain won’t stop this squad from anything
6. Hiking (running) with a 35-pound backpack isn’t as hard when you have people to cheer on and people cheering you on
7. Good gear is everything
8. This trip isn’t a sacrifice, it’s a privilege
9. I am not a hero
10. Feedback is a positive thing and absolutely crucial to healthy relationships
11. Choreographing an entire dance in 2 hours for 40 people is possible
12. God is never disappointed in us like we are in ourselves. There is no condemnation in Him
13. Missions is life and life is missions
14. Being on the mission field does not start August 1stand end 11 months later, it is a lifestyle, all day, every day
15. It is crazy what the Holy Spirit can do when we just listen
16. Eno naps are the best
17. This trip is not about brining our American culture and American Christianity to these communities we will be meeting and living with
18. The Lord has asked me to go on this so He is going to provide what is necessary for me every step of the way
19. If not, He is still GOOD
20. It’s better to address conflict in the beginning than let bitterness and anger fester
21. With and by the strength of Jesus, I am ready for just about anything to come my way
And to my beautiful and vibrant X Squad, I can’t wait to begin this amazing journey with you in just two short weeks. Praying hard for you guys.
South Africa, here we come!
