Goodbye Guatemala.
Where do I even start? Guatemala, you have taught me so much. Because of that I just want to say a few thank yous to my favorite people, places, and things that I’ve come to love in Guatemala.
The Gomez Family
Junior and Rake. The best ministry host I could have ever asked for. Not only the best ministry host but the best family. Thank you for inviting P31 into your lives and loving us so deeply. The words you have spoken over me will forever change my life. You were so intentional with getting to know us and serving the people of Parramos. You both have showed me what it looks like to be bold men and women of God and to be so obedient in your walk with Him. Thank you for letting us love on your kids. They always brought a smile to my face. I am so grateful for all the memories that we have created. All the laughs. All the cries. All the food. And all the things that could give us a fever. Junior and Rake. Thank you.
Parramos
Full of so many beautiful people. From house visits to worshiping in the park to always at the dispensa. Thank you Parramos. I have met so many unique souls. God has taken P31 to many houses that were praying for us. We didn’t even know. But God did. I will never stop praying for the people of Parramos. It will always be my home. Thank you for loving me so well. My town. My home. My heart. I love you.The base staff
Thank you Kevin and Tonya for providing a beautiful base to call home. Not only that but also for providing us with a deeper understanding of the Bible. Kevin, I now am so excited to read my bible and learn more about all the wonders inside. Tonya, you showed me how to be a strong leader and powerful woman of God. Thank you. Gabe. A true man of God. Always listening to the fathers voice and speaking truth and life. You have help equipped me to go to my remaining countries (and eventually home) and spread the word in a whole new way. Thank you for your perspective. Mae. A light. It was such a joy to get to know you. Thank you for your laughter, wisdom, and AMAZING hugs. I will cherish them forever.
Centro de Atención Mis Años Dorados
I used to hate Monday, but then that’s when I started seeing my favorite people and it’s now my favorite. Thank you for being such sweet souls. I will never forget the beautiful men and women I met here. So sweet. So crazy. So fun. They stole my heart and I miss them the most. They may be older but they could really boogie! I’ll miss the wild moments and dance parties. Thanks for everyone showing me love like I was their grand daughter. I always felt so loved and so happy. Everyone was so full of joy and I miss those precious smiles. See you soon. Hopefully.
Worship Room
Oh worship room. You made Thursday’s one of my favorite days of the week. I loved drinking way too much caffeine then praising the Lord like no one was watching. Everyone there poured into my life so much. Worship has always been my favorite but worship room gave me new perspective on what it looks like to be unashamed to praise and dance for my king. So much light in a room. Refuge coffee shop was a holy place. You instantly felt joy when you walked in. Thank you for showing me so much and for blessing me with new friendships. I love you guys and I’ll see you soon.
La Fonda
China, Rudy, and Lilly. So welcoming. Always greeted us with a smile and hug. Rudy. Our protector. We always knew he would look out for us whenever we need. China. Always making me cry in the best way. I talked to my family and was crying and she gave me a well needed hug and ever since then she has been such a comforter in my life. She always makes me smile and laugh. Lily. You put up with us even when we were being weird and dancing in the courtyard or struggling with ordering in Spanish. You are always so sweet.
Thank you La Fonda for all the pasta and crepes. All the lesson planning. All of the sweet calls to home and also making it a little like home there. La Fonda and the people that work there will always have a special place in my heart. Thank You.
Room 5
Where to even begin with room 5? Room 5 was home. It’s where 7 strangers became sisters. All the laughs. All the deep talks. All the crackhead moments. Everything and in between. Room 5 was my safe place. It’s where I shared my testimony for the first time. It’s where I learned that I am loved and seen by my new sisters. It’s where I found out that God shows His love through others because my team loves me unlike any love I’ve ever felt before. Room 5. Thank you. Thank you for being our home even when you were a little smelly. Room 5. So many memories made. It was a hard goodbye. But now you will be a safe place for the next squad. You will be home for someone new. They will be able to experience you in a while new way. Thank you Room 5. For everything.
Goodbye Guatemala. Thank you for everything. I never knew I could grow so much in 3 months. You taught me so much. I leave with a bigger heart full of so much love because of your people. Thank you Guatemala for all of your beauty. God is moving in Guatemala. He was moving before I got there and He will continue to move after I leave. I know I won’t see the seeds that were planted. But I have faith that God will help them grow. Thank you God for this opportunity to love a place so deeply and with so much intentionality. Thank you for preparing me for my next season in Ethiopia. Thanks for an amazing adventure. This isn’t Goodbye Guatemala.
It’s see you soon.
