Then I heard the voice of The Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" – Isaiah 6:8
I have seen this verse more than once….ok, I'm being modest with that….I have it on my freaking World Race business card to hand out to people, and I'm pretty sure that I've posted it on a previous blog. I mean, it's such an impowering verse, right? Just reading it makes me want to jump out of my seat and run to the nearest person and start witnessing to them…..Christian or not.
Then reality of what lies ahead for me begins to creep in. What's about to happen in my life is more than just a memorized or quoted scripture….it's reality. Am I ready for this? Am I ready:
….to get dirty
….to be broken
….to break out into spontaneous worship
….to laugh
….to cry
….to sing
….to travel
….to leave my friends and family
….to live out of a backpack
….to walk….or run….a lot
….to get on my knees and pray
….to play and hugs tons of kids who just want to feel loved
….to love….and be loved
….to be sick….and be healed
….to have a whole new meaning of "blind faith"
….to be put completely out of my comfort zone
….to be closer to God than I ever thought humanly possible
….to jump in the deep end and know that HE is there to catch me
….to let God have the utmost control over me
….to be at HIS complete mercy
Am I ready for ALL of this?
I love The Lord, for her heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. – Psalm 116:1-2
I'm totally ready! Are there times when I get a bit nervous about going into the unknown, and not having a "step-by-step" plan because I'm a bit OCD? Of course….but who isn't?! God has laid out that beautiful floor plan of each and every one of our lives….including me!
He has graciously been preparing me for this very moment in my life. He has given me a voice and talent to sing so that I can worship and praise HIS name, and to use it as a method of letting his light shine through me….how cool is that?!
He has taken me overseas to South Korea, China, and to the Dominican Republic, to do mission work and prepare my heart.
He has recently given me the opportunity to go and speak to different youth groups, churches, and soon to be a school's FCA and share my testimony with them.
I've ordered tons of prayer bracelets that are in one way helping me raise funds to leave in September, but have also become an opened door to different people asking me tons of questions about what I'm doing and where I'm going. Oh, and did I mention I've been able to hand these to youth to encourage THEM to use it as a ministry at there school and at home???
This is all so much bigger than me, and bigger than anyone…..it's GOD we're talking about! The CREATOR of the UNIVERSE (and for those that don't know much about the universe…..it's freaking HUGE)! The one who sent his ONE AND ONLY SON to die for ME…..I mean who isn't ready for what's next when you look at it like that!
