Hey friends. My squad made it to Romania on the 5th. This month is all squad month, which means all of us will be staying in the same place doing different ministries.  For the past couple of days, my team and I have been walking 5 hours a day ministering to people on the streets. I have to say, meeting new people and getting to know their stories has been one of my favorite parts.

Everyone we have met on the street has been super kind and open minded.  During one of our walks, we met an older lady, and she was the sweetest. After we got done talking to her we asked if she wanted to meet up for coffee another day, she said she would love to.  She only has one child, and he lives in England. So, I am glad we get to hangout with her again.  We also met a couple at the park. They told us they have been married for 50 years! They gave us some marriage advice and  encouraged us to wait for the right person. For the next few weeks, my team will be partnering with a ministry host, and his church where we could be either remodeling/painting a thrift shop that will help raise support for a nonprofit hospice or working directly with the church. A few things I have learned on The Worldrace or things I have been reminded of lately:

  1. It’s okay to not be okay. There is freedom in letting people know how you feel.

  1. Never pretend to read or guess what other people are thinking. If you want to know something, just ask.

  1. Give the same grace to yourself as you give to others.

  1. In this beautiful journey of life, you will fail, and you will disappoint people. It’s okay, you’re not perfect. But, make sure to get up and try to be the best version of yourself each day.

  1. How you talk about yourself not only affects you, but also affects the people around you. So, make sure to speak truth into your life.

  1. There is something powerful that happens when you live in community. It’s not always pretty, but boy is it worth it.

  1. YOU can’t fix everyone.

  1. Life is a journey; take it one step at a time. Go your own pace.

Thank you for reading my blog. Please be praying for Romania and my squad that during our stay here that we would make Christ known.
