This last week I was able to help lead 15 7th grade girls at Young Life Camp. Over the week, I was able to get to know each one of girls and hear their stories. The best part about the week though, was that 7 of them decided to start a relationship with God. This moment was such an amazing feeling and seeing their genuine hunger to get to know the Lord better on a personal level was so refreshing.

Sometimes I feel like people, including myself, see the relationship between us and the Lord as a formal relationship. In this relationship, God is like the strict teacher who we are afraid to open up to. Instead, a relationship with the Lord should be like a father and son/daughter type of love. We should be able to ask God questions and be open and real with him.

In church today, the Pastor talked about being in this relationship. One point that he brought up that I think is true is sometimes praying and listening to him we make it about the religious rituals. Instead, forget the religious rituals and make it a conversation back and forth. Create it so that you can understand God even better. With out making it a one on one relationship, you may never be able to get to take that next step in a relationship with the Lord that you may have wanted.

Hearing the sermon this weekend and having the kids at camp be so real and honest brought me back to the reason of why I decided to go on this mission trip in the first place. I did this because I listened to God telling me to go and me wanting to pursue a deeper relationship with him! God is worthy of all my praise!

Less than a month till training camp!

TWO MONTHS till I leave!

I am looking for support still financially and in prayer!
