Last month was in Albania! It was an amazing month full of laughter, changes, and growth. This month I was with a new team called team Prodigious! This is an all girls team which was different compared to the guy and girl team I was on before. It was so fun to be on an all girls team! Very different but in great ways! We were with the Church of God in Tirana, Albania. Here we stayed in the youth room of the church. We helped start an english class for college students in the surrounding colleges! Through this english class we built friendships with the students who would come twice a week. I loved being able to pour into these amazing people and hear there story and them show us what life is like in Albania. We learned how to dance their traditional dances and even attempted to show them ours!
Not only did we help start the english class, but we also helped out at two of the church plants in Tirana. One was in the Roma community. We would go in the morning to play with the students after they were done with homework club. After that we would go on house visits and talk to the women of this area. Their stories were shocking and I was in awe of these women who have gone through so much yet they put all their trust in God. The community is changing and the focus is coming around the Lord and being a loving community one step at a time. I wish I could tell every story of each of the families we visited in this area. We also went to another church plant in the Muslim community. Here we helped with a garden, did house visits, and helped organize the beginnings of a new church!
This month was a month of such movements in my own spiritual life and let me tell you, God is always showing me more and more of who he is! I learned a lot about how the Lord wants me to step out in faith and he will be there to be my support when I do!
Overall, I loved Albania and it has a part of my heart! I didn’t think it would but it stole my heart! I am so thankful for this month!
