Hey ya’ll! Quick update on what my squad is doing. We are all together for “Leadership Weekend” in Siguatepeque, Honduras. Two days in a beautiful remote area for a time to love and encourage each other while preparing for the upcoming month. Tomorrow we fly out of Tegucigalpa ready to begin Month 4 in Santiago, Chile. I can’t believe we’ve made it this far! Time is flying by and only 8 months left.
The month of April will look very different for my team as we were chosen for Unsung Heroes. Unsung Heroes is a month of traveling through different communities and cities searching for new contacts for Adventures In Missions (AIM). Instead of living with a host in one city and serving them throughout the month we will be searching for new hosts for future World Racers.
Our Base City will be in the capital of Chile, Santiago. We will be traveling as far North as the city of Valparaiso and South to Longavi. Researching Chile I am extremely excited about this upcoming month. Chile is rich in culture, full of history, delicious cuisine and many adventures I hope to take part in.
This month will be one of the most exciting as well as one of the most difficult. I signed up to be head of logistics for my team. I have the responsibility of our transportation and lodging. Back in the States before leaving for the Race I was working on my degree in logistics. I enjoy structure, planning and having “control”.
On the Race you have little control or knowledge of where you are going, how you are getting there and when. In this way you learn to lean on the Lord. You learn to trust Him as well as your team and squadmates.
I write to ask for prayer. I write because Sunday we begin our journey in Chile and we have yet to book lodging. We don’t know where we are going to begin our new journey. I have full faith that God has our month planned and protected. I only struggle with the unknowing of the upcoming month. Please pray for content. Please pray for wisdom. Please pray I learn to completely lean on the Lord during this month. Trust in Him fully no matter what circumstances and difficulties arise.
I also ask that you pray for my funding. I have $1500 left to raise before I am fully funded. The full amount is due April 29 and I hope to have the full amount before then.
I know April will be a month of learning discipline, faith and patience. Please keep myself, my team and squad in your prayers this month. Thanks ya’ll and I love you!
