Hey Folks! My name is Simeon and I am joining the Race from San Diego, California where I have been a church planter for 6 years. I also lived in Atlanta for 6 years but was born and raised in Florida (Orlando area). I am a dreamer who loves to read, build relationships, dance, sing, listen to music, study Korean, and encourage people. Generally, I just love people and learning different cultures. I love a good laugh, witty humor (puns/wordplay included), deep conversations about any manner of things, and time in nature. I’m a pretty simple person, I think, but you can ask my friends and family if that is true, haha! I feel called to lifelong missions work, specifically Korea in some capacity, and am on a journey to figure out how that really looks for the rest of my life.
God has shown so much more grace and mercy to me in my life than I would have were I Him. Thank God that He doesn’t think like me, I mean seriously! I am on a mission to bring a head knowledge of God and His boundless love to the depths of my heart, and I believe the World Race is the road God has called me to walk in order to further this process. For so long I have felt like I were only an observer of what God is doing in the world and around me, every now and then stepping in and obeying Him in some specific deed and seeing positive results, but I don’t believe I have allowed myself to be completely unleashed as of yet. Thus far, I have been a “nice guy”, but “nice guys” don’t forcefully advance the Kingdom of God against the onslaught of the enemy. I tire of being just a nice guy who operates on a great majority his own personality or charisma but lacks the unrivaled force of God behind his actions. I have a biblical example to follow in people who were more than “nice” in their obedience to God. They were all human, fallible, even foolish in some instances, but faith and obedience brought them to the feet of God who ordered their steps. That is what I want for my life as well.
