This seems like an incredibly narcissistic and arrogant comment, but I do believe it’s true. I could go through these nine months with my own strength. I am perfectly capable of playing children’s games, leading worship, and teaching piano lessons without the Holy Spirit.

When I signed up for the Race, I had an expectation, which was this: I would need God on the Race in a way I didn’t back home. I would have no choice to turn to Him all the time, because I would have so little besides Him. This is simply not the case. As humans, we are very good at adapting to our surroundings. I have gotten used to life in Albania, and honestly, I’ve gotten comfortable here. I have a daily routine just like at home. I eat the same exact things for breakfast and lunch just like at home. Life is still just life, whether in Michigan or in Albania.

What, then, is the point of this post? Obviously I’m not suggesting that I will do the Race without God. The point is, I have to choose to turn to God everyday, whether I am in Michigan or in Albania. I have realized this over the last couple of weeks, and even spoke about it at our church’s youth gathering on Saturday night. God has blessed us with so much that we don’t need to constantly rely on him to survive, as the Israelites did. God doesn’t give us food each day, but rather the means to provide for ourselves. In the end though, everything we have comes from God, and therefore God deserves everything we have. I will choose to turn to Him daily, and seek what He has for me. If I don’t, I could miss something He has to teach me, or a ministry opportunity that He has for me.

Prayer and Support Request:
I would love prayer that I would seek God constantly, and that I would never try to do this on my own. I also need about $1000 more to be fully funded. I love you all and appreciate all of your support, both prayerfully and financially! I also love praying for people back home, so feel free to send me any prayer requests. Love you all and miss you. God Bless!

Side Note: We climbed up a mountain on Friday, and it was incredibly beautiful. Here’s a picture!
