I wanted to write an update for everyone explaining what my
life will be looking like in the coming months prior to leaving in
September. Having committed to
going on the World Race, my plans for this summer are slowly falling into
place… while at the same time everything seems up in the air. The preparation for leaving for an
entire year has been a lot more difficult then I thought it would be and this
entire summer is looking to be quite the experience in and of it self.
As of now, due to our house being sold, I have to move out
of my place on May 29th.
I am currently trying to sell off as much of my stuff as possible so to
not have to worry about storing or moving everything multiple times this summer. I will be looking for some place to stay
for the rest of my time in the states.
Since I have work teaching through the second week of June, I plan on
staying in the La Mirada/Whittier area at least till the end of the school
year.
On June 15th, I will be flying to Ecuador for a
week, where I will be in one of my closest friend’s wedding. I am extremely excited for this
opportunity as not only will I get to celebrate with my friend in getting married
but also I have never been to South America before and so it is a great reason
to make the trip.
Once I return from Ecuador, I will have about 5 weeks where
I no longer will have any teaching jobs and so I will need to find some form of
work. Please pray that I will be
able to find a temporary job during these weeks, as I cannot afford to not have
an income for such a long period of time.
On July 24th, I will be heading to Georgia for a
week of training. I am excited to
finally meet all of the people taking part in the September 2010 World Race.
The main objective for this week is personal revival in order to prepare us for
heading out into the world.
After returning from training, I am planning on going back
home to Japan for the remaining time in order to spend some time with my family
before leaving for a year. I am
really looking forward to this time just to see family and friends as well as
perhaps work a few more weeks while I am back.
Please pray for:
-This whole summer as I will be moving and going through times of transition
-A cheap location to live during the few months left here in
the states
-Some sort of Job during the last week of June until
training camp
-Safety in the midst of traveling
-That God would be preparing me now for the work he will be
doing in my life at training camp, in order to get me ready to be used by Him.
