Upon returning from camp, in two days I had a goodbye party, celebrated my birthday, had to get the remainder of my possessions into boxes and move them to a friends apartment, say all of my final goodbyes and finally jump on a plane and fly to Japan. It was a really strange and hard experience to be saying good bye to so many people knowing that I would not be seeing them for over a year. For everyone that some how missed the memo that I was already leaving the country, I sincerely apologize and am sorry that I did not get a chance to see you before I left.
I should have sent this out a little earlier, but yes, I arrived safely in Japan. Thank you all for your prayers. Since being here, everyone has been asking me how home has been… ironically, I have not actually been home yet. My mom and sister picked me up from the airport and we went directly to our cabin up at the lake. We spent two full days there just relaxing. After a long string of craziness in the states, it was really nice to finally take some time and just chill.

After the lake, our family went up to a Karuizawa, where my parents were able to get me a job in a kitchen at a Christian retreat center. Since I won’t be leaving till the middle of September, I am very thankful for the opportunity to make a little money and have something to fill up my time. I will be working here for at least another week, if not two, and then I will finally return home to Tokyo.
