Life Altering Reality

It’s difficult to sum up our month in Botswana in just a few words as it was sprinkled with a diverse array of events. For starters, we were located at Capro Missions Training Center- the first World Race team (along with Drop’s Mic, the incredible team we were partnered with) to work alongside this program. They train Africans from all over to become missionaries in a one-year program before then sending them off to wherever The Lord is calling them! 

We learned that in Botswana it’s respected to become a pastor, but looked down upon to be a missionary- so most people grow up thinking that mission work is only for the ‘white Americans’, and those who fight against this lie and enter into a missionary life are most often looked down upon by their families, lacking their support.

However, The Lord is busting the doors wide open to a young generation who is refusing to accept that lie as their reality. He has manifested Himself in these young (college aged- 30’s) people’s lives, given liberty to prior captives held in the bondage of this world, who are sick and tired of not living a life with purpose and meaning. Who are literally proclaiming the strongholds and shackles they were held in before giving their lives to Christ, in high schools across Botswana who are currently encountering an onslaught of students practicing Satanism. This young generation that we had the honor and privelage of meeting was apart of an organization called Youth for Christ- 16 of which surrendered their lives completely over to God as missionaries during their short time at Capro, declaring they were available for His service to be sent wherever He called!! It was powerful to witness; these were the same individuals who are using the talents, abilities, and gifts The Lord has equipped them with to reach the young generation of Botswana. 

We had the chance to see one of their performances at a local high school while we were there (their group of about 30 stayed at Capro Missions for about 2 weeks, receiving training), it was a program they created including a drama, music performance, and an awareness of the reality of HIV/AIDS. In the drama, each boldly held up a sign in front of them of the bondage they had suffered from before Christ; pornography addict, homosexuality, hypocrite, alcoholism, drug addictions, suicidal, fornication, and the list goes on. This was POWERFUL. They were extremely raw, honest, and genuine with these students, bringing awareness to places all humans suffer in bondage from, and being the living example of the hope of freedom from each, that ONLY the power of Christ can bring to each and every single one of us. They preached how Christ freed each of them from those labels that the world used to define them, and took away all guilt, shame, and condemnation that they used to be held in. 

And my gosh did God honor their bold obedience- almost every hand in that auditorium of about 200+ went up at the end, asking Christ into their lives!!! The Kingdom was heavily impacted that day by these young individuals willingly being open, transparent, and honest for the glory of God and what He’s capable of doing for all of us if we allow and invite Him in. 

The time has come where God is raising up people who are sick and tired of settling for the lies that this world force-feeds us of who we are supposed to be and what we are to achieve, laying it all aside for a life of trust, faith, abundance, promise, hope, security, love, and liberation in Christ; bringing the same freedom we found to those who are still searching. 

Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of The Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;”

Romans 8:1-2 “There is therefore now NO condemnation [guilt, shame] to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me FREE from the law of sin & death.”

Colossians 2:13-15 “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”

Hebrews 2:14-15 “Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.”

We are offered abundant, life-giving reality through Jesus Christ, to be made whole and complete, sanctified and set apart, for a life knowing and loving our Maker and Father, that the devil so easily blinds our eyes to by the lies and deceptiveness of the world. It is never too late to surrender your life over to The Lord and let Him begin the life-altering transformation in you and your life. You are valued, loved, worthy, special, and of ultimate importance to your Maker and Creator. He has a life full of purpose for every single person on this planet who will allow Him to enter into their life and take full control- it’s not promised to be an easy, instant transformation or ride, but it is of the ultimate worth, bringing eternal value; absolutely the best decision I have ever made.
