This morning we headed out to the stunning Costa Rican beach to collect sea glass and driftwood for a project we will be participating in with our ministry (right up my alley, I know, I could barely contain my excitement!). While scavenging the vast span of sandy shore, God reminded me of how what I was doing in the immediate moment was completely a gift from Him, delivered uniquely to me.
He reminded me of how when I was a sophomore in college, I had actually researched and compiled an intricate list of the best places around the world to find sea glass because I was eventually going to go sometime after college, and Costa Rica was on this list! It's truly incredible how He's given me that precious gift here and reminded me of that desire in my heart.
While out there, I was able to have a conversation with my sweet friend Hannah, a squad mate from the team Oceans that we're paired with for the month, about how in the past I have struggled with feeling and understanding my importance in God's eyes, and truly accepting that unconditional love that He has for me. I always felt insignificant and another face amongst the trillions He's created. He's thankfully broken me of that and I walk more in this freedom, truth, and understanding daily that he continually reminds me of. It's becoming apart of who I truly am, who I belong to, and Whom I place my entire identity in. The sea glass adventure was just a reminder of how He does remember and know absolutely everything, and He gives us multitudes of these gifts, it's just a matter of if we're paying attention to the love He's pouring onto us or not.
