What a different month it has been here in Serbia! We are staying in Zrenjanin, Serbia. Zrenjanin is a very quiet, small town about two hours outside of Belgrade. Finding out contact was a last minute thing. They were not prepared for five girls to show up but they have completely taken us in and made us family.
During the week we get the opportunity to make house visits to members of the congregations homes! We get to sit and fellowship and play with their children! We have gotten to establish great relationships with amazing Serbian families! They have really shown me what it is like to love like Jesus loves. They open up their homes, washing machines, wifi, and kitchens to us as if we have been family for years!
We have also gotten the opportunity to spend time with the youth! Dragan is one of the young boys apart of the church. We have gotten the opportunity to help him practice his english while he reminds us everyday that we aren't nearly as good at foosball as we thought….. During Sports day we found out we aren't as good at soccer either.
Sundays we have two church services. In the morning we get to join the Serbian congregation in praise and worship! Followed by a sermon, on occasion we have a member translate for us, but majority of the time we spend that time reading our bibles and praying. Regardless of us understanding what is being said, it is always such a blessing to get to take part in their time of worship.
Last night I was given the chance to share my testimony with the Church. I love how God gave me all the right words to say and the confidence to get up in front of strangers and tell them things I don't typically share about my life.
Even though there isn't always a lot to do, everyday in Serbia has been amazing. I know there will probably never be another time in my life where I will get so much time to devote to getting to know Jesus better. I have been given such an amazing opportunity to get to dig deeper and grow relationship with God.
He has already taught me so much! I can't wait to see what else he is going to show in the months to come! Next stop ROMANIA!!
