“I’m skipping India! I’ll meet you guys in Nepal!”
Those are my exact words about 15 minutes into our flight from Qatar to India! By this moment I had already had the Indian lady next to me push me at least 5 times and put her hands in my lap…. Not sure why! I was completely taken back when I saw how rude the people were to the flight attendants! During the flight one guy almost tipped the cart onto us trying to get back to his seat! I couldn’t believe it! I then decided I didn’t want to go to India! I might of even went back to Marie and cried about it!

15 days later I lay outside on the couch and laugh at myself! I was right India is sooo miserable!! It is hot, and humid! I am covered in ant bites! (Darn things got in my tent one night and had a Sierra buffet!), because of the riots we don’t have electricity most days, or water, the food is so hot it’s hard to eat, and let’s be honest bucket showers suck!!

Absolutely the most trying, gross month of he race so far! And I’ve never felt more alive! I have never In my life been so full of joy and happiness! India has shown me so much about myself! Between the chaos of trying to ride in an auto to the excitement of picking out lice God has shown up every day!

I am in a constant state of thankfulness! It’s not about what you look like, or what you have! It’s not about being in air conditioning or having wifi! It’s about the love you have for those around you! It’s about going everyday and scrubbing poop off walls so the kids have a clean place to live! It’s about picking out lice of an orphans hair who doesn’t have a mom to do it for her! It’s about loving those who sometimes get looked over!

India we may of started off on the wrong foot but you have truly won over my heart!
