“Please Lord give me $4,000 by August 1st.”
Despite my hard work I had only raised $2,500 in 6 months. I needed $5,000 by September 9th to meet my first deadline. I was 2 months away and I had done my big fundraisers and sold everything I owned except some clothes and soap.
One night I was driving home feeling very defeated. I brokenly prayed “Lord you’re my Husband. You turn water into wine. You bought me with your blood. Please show me tangibly that you are listening to me,” and then I added “Actually, I’m not getting out of this car until I see it.”
After 30 minutes of aimless driving and prayer I saw a flash of light in the sky. It wasn’t lightning; I can’t explain it other than I knew it was from God. I said, “I want more,” and I kept driving. Every couple of minutes the sky would flash. I kept repeating “Lord show me your glory!” until I ended up in another town. I looked out my window with tears in my eyes and saw that I was in a children’s park called “The Vineyard”.
In the Bible a vineyard is a metaphor for God’s goodness. Faith is one of those goodnesses. A few years ago I was in a place where only He could rescue me, and He did. He answered EVERY prayer from my lips that glorified Him. My faith was strong then, but it was being shaken by an ocean of lies. This drive was the restoration of my faith.
“I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to me there, as she did long ago when she was young, when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt.” Hosea 2:15
A couple of weeks went by and I checked my account. It was still at $2,500 so I called my mom unsure of what to do so we prayed more.
The next morning it was at $4,709 and later that day I was given $350 for housesitting.
Today is August 1st and I have over $6,000 in my account.
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20
