Hey folks! I thought I’d give you some insight into my team’s name and what it means to all of us! So if you didn’t know, I am on a team with five other racers that I am blessed to do life with over the next 8 months, as well as our team and squad leaders. Collectively, we are TEAM BAREFEET! I know what you’re thinking, “barefeet” like, what? Let me explain.

One day, in the beginning of month one, we were all sitting together and discussing what we wanted the culture and atmosphere of our team to be. Our team leader, the beautiful Lauren Kobe, heard the the word “barefoot” from the Holy Spirit. All of us were kinda like “um what?”, but as we thought about it, we realized how special it actually was. When you go to someone’s house, and you feel safe and comfortable, you remove your shoes, which also shows that you’re planning on staying awhile. So we took it to Scripture and found that whenever the presence of Yahweh fell, it was deemed Holy Ground, and those present would remove their shoes.

We want our team to be a place where we all feel safe, welcomed, and seen. And more than that, we desire for the Lord to be present and guiding us always. And when we looked around and realized we were all barefoot, we knew we had a name.
