Things I will never take for granted again:

A wash machine. My hands just don’t do my clothes justice.

A dryer. The sun is great, but i prefer my clothes to smell sweet.

Toilet paper. Drip drying has reached its point of exhaustion.

A regular BM. Things we learn to talk about freely on the Race.

A western toilet. Squatty potties are tiering.

(This was in Tanzania)

Seasons that change. Sweating all year long is something I’m not too fond of.

Air conditioning. You can never get enough of it.

Shade. Is hard to find these days.

A shower. Buckets are great, but a true shower can never be replaced.

A normal towel. My quick-dry towel isn’t so nice and fluffy. And gains bad smells easily.

Hand soap. Washing my hands after using the bathroom has suddenly become a luxury.

Dress code. I will forever appreciate being able to wear tank tops and shorts at home.

Cleanliness. After having dirt under my nails and all over my body for a week straight, I
miss being clean.

My closet. Not having to wear the same 4 outfits all year.

Sleep with no sweat. I miss curling up in my comforter and being pleasantly cold rather then still sweating when i wake up in the morning.

Internet. The knowledge that it will work and that more then 1 person can use it at a time.

Food of my choice when i want i
t. The ability to chose is something that i appreciate the most.

My car. I miss having the ability to go where i want, when i want.

Electricity. Turning on a light or charging my computer is something i miss.

Alone time. Spending seriously 24/7 with the same people for 7 months is great, but every once and a while all you want is to saver the silence.

Running water. Pumping and hauling water for 20 mins on my shoulder is not my choice of exercise.

My pantry and refrigerator. Making my favorite snacks and having access to them is the most talked about subject on the Race.

Ice. Coke just doesn’t taste the same warm.

A dish washer. Enough said.

(This was Tanzania)

Chill days. Curling up on the couch and watching a movie with some snacks.

Church. 5 to 6 hour long church services are not something that i am particularly going to miss.

My family. I miss them everyday.

God has truly shown me how blessed I am over the last few months. I have grown up with all the things I need and all the things I have ever wanted. God is so good.

      Thank you Jesus.
Thank you for blessing me with more then I have ever needed.
Thank you for giving me these freedoms and for letting me grow up in the land of plenty.
And thank you for showing me these blessings as I have traveled this world of yours.
You are so good to me.

I encourage you to count your blessings. It took me traveling the world and going without these things to realize how truly blessed I am. I hope it doesn’t take you that much to realize how blessed you are.
