Dear Friends,

I hope that this letter finds you well. Some know my story and to others it will be a complete surprise. In order to fully share my heart behind what I’m asking for, I want you to know a few things about myself. Two years ago I walked out of a lifestyle that consisted of heavy addictions and intentional rebellion from Jesus. Since that day, the Lord has subtly paved a path of restoration and carefully woven back together who He originally designed me to be. One of the things He used to get me to where I’m at now, is my church (Community of Faith). It was there that I found the safety to share my story and courage to ask for help. I knew the Lord was preparing me for something vast; asking me to take steps toward something I couldn’t yet see. One night after church a stranger then but close friend now came up to me and just started talking about THE WORLD RACE. After a few minutes spent listening to her story, I saw a picture being painted of a desire the Lord placed inside my heart but that I hadn’t yet discovered. I have an incredible opportunity to live out the cry of my heart, to share my mess in a way that allows others to see the kind of Father they have. At the darkest time in my life, He stretched His arm out and simply asked me to walk along side him. Because of the radical love shown to me in that moment, I want to also stretch my arm out and invite as many people as I can into this journey with Jesus.

The world race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries. I have been accepted to a route in January of 2019, including Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, and South Africa. I will be involved in all kinds of ministry such as working with orphans, teaching English, planting churches, feeding victims of natural disasters, ministering to those trapped in prostitution due to human trafficking, and many other things, all while preaching the Gospel. I have never done a majority of these things, but I once heard someone say, “God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called.”

I am humbly asking if you would consider partnering with me in prayer, but of course I am in need of financial support as well. I must raise $18,200 for this ministry opportunity, which will cover all my expenses while in the field. While that number may seem daunting, I would like to express that every little bit is a huge blessing. It may be my experience, but what this money is really being raised for is so people across the nations may be served as Christ served and loved as He loved. Would you prayfully consider joining me finacially with any amount you feel led to give? You can sponser me with a one time gift, or sign up to give monthly on my blog ([email protected]) by clicking donate on the right side of the screen. If you would wish to send in your contribution as a check, please send it with the support card included in this envelop to the address given on the card. This way, the faculty at Adventures in Missions will know your donation is for me.

I hope that you know how much your prayer and support means to me. I still can’t believe that this is the calling the Lord has asked me to pursue. I am overwhelmed by the love and encouragement I have already received since making this jump. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and most importantly, for being a blessing in my life. If you have any further questions, I would absolutely love to talk with you. Don’t hesitate to pull me aside when you see me, or call/text me at 937-307-1129.

With much love,

Shondra Deeter
