Here are some photos documenting what life was like for us serving the beautiful people of Salima, Malawi.

Photo 1: Our feet were constantly dirty, near black; and I had to get used to getting under my covers with feet looking like this.

Photo 2: These jugs weigh roughly 45 pounds when full. We carried these 1/2 mile to a well, filled them up, and carried them back for hygiene, cooking, drinking, and all other daily chores. I was amazed that the Malawian women just throw huge buckets on their heads and carry them just as far!

Photo 3: Bricks. We spent a lot of time moving bricks, as one of our big projects was helping to build a septic tank/porta-potty for future teams.

Photo 4: We rode these bike taxis, called 'dumpers' for about 50 Kwacha per mile. That equals out to about 15 cents.

Photo 5: (L to R) Laura, Justin, Miranda, Riley, and Darren preparing to eat infamous Sheema – the Malawian treat.
