"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings and proclaim salvation." Isaiah 52:7
"Have your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace." Ephesians 6:15
This is a picture of my feet on the Navy Pier in downtown Chicago… since my blog theme has been the verse in Isaiah that speaks about beautiful feet, I thought it would be fun to post this photo of my 'feet' going… I will do so in each country (thanks Ashley for this fun idea!). We have been in Chicago for a few days now, preparing to depart the U.S. this Saturday morning for the Dominican Republic, and our team has received our official 'assignment' for the first month! I will not reveal the project yet, but I can say.. I am SO excited!
Things I'm thankful for Launch Week:
1. A hotel with a hot shower
2. Giordino's authentic Chicago-style pizza
3. An adventurous trip by shuttle, train, and foot to downtown Chicago/the Navy Pier with two beautiful women
4. Finally being ready to accept challenges that have stopped me before
5. Already having a 'saying' my teammates use for me: "That's SO Shelli…" (usually, this is in regards to me being silly or dancing like a fool)
6. Spending time with my team: Ashley, Alex, Julie, and Kirby
7. Listening Prayer (we spent time in prayer and then went out into the city, letting God lead us to some incredible conversations)
8. Letting go of things… even my own need for control
9. Recognizing the necessity and beauty of grace
10. You. My friends and family, whom I already miss alot…
