Today marks the completion of my first week here in Manzini, Swaziland. Swaziland has been different from many of the previous 8 months in so many ways. For starters, last week we flew from Asia to Africa! We arrived in Swaziland just in time for the Parent Vision Trip (PVT). That means my mom flew out to Swaziland to visit me and do ministry with us for the week. This week was honestly one of the hardest weeks on the race. It was really cool to see my mom and even more amazing to watch her love on the children and the people around us (stories to come). She really has such a huge heart and loved well this week. Despite all of the good that came from PVT, the Lord was bringing a lot of things up in my heart this past week for the next season. He really brought me to a place of brokenness in how I see myself.
In addition to this, I have a new team! I am, once again, on an all girls team called Team Mosaic. It consists of seven girls including Whitney Connor, Bethany Dilts, Jessica Guin, Courtney Tuttle, Adrienne Simon, Sarah Dooley, and me. While this team is full of girls I have not gotten close too, all of us with big personalities and strong opinions, I know that God is going to use this team for big things and mesh us together in really cool ways.
Please keep me in your prayers as I begin to walk through the season of rebuilding that follows the brokenness God brought me through in PVT. There is a lot of work that he and I need to do in my heart. It is going to be a process, but I have already gotten to taste some of the delicious fruit that is going to come from it. In addition to this, please pray for Team Mosaic as we learn what it looks like to walk as a team. When I say that this team has the potential to be the best team any of us had on the race thus far, I’m being serious. However, when I say that it is going to have to require the most intentionality, I am also being serious. So keep us in your prayers as we learn how to love each other well and spread that love to those we meet. I know that these last 3 months of the race here in Africa are going to be the best yet!
