Hi friends! First week of being on the World Race and all I can say is…wow. God is crazy cool. Let me tell you guys one of MANY stories the Lord has already let me be apart of…
So on my first day of ministry they picked a group of about 10 of us to go out and love on the homeless. We went out after dark and stepped foot into a homeless community. The street was filled with hundreds of people, young and old. There were all types of drugs everywhere, women were selling themselves, and every one was stumbling. There were needles all over the ground and people were completely out of their minds. This was the darkest place I have ever seen. I walked in with a spirit of fear (that was NOT from God) and weight on my soul. I could physically feel the darkness.
But God is so good.
Out of complete nowhere (through the prayer warriors on the other side), I began to experience a supernatural peace. I could see the hand of God in a place that was filled with darkness. I was finally beginning to see His heart.
As I was writing this blog, I first began to type how I did not experience a miracle from the Lord. And friends, the SECOND I typed that the Lord convicted my heart and said, “Yes you did. Open your eyes, my girl.” My heart needed a major check and I needed to reposition it. God moved in a way I did not (at first) recognize. I usually picture miracles as people being physically healed, but this type of healing was different…
So we met this man named Diego. He was very persistent on talking with us and was quite the chatterbox 🙂 He said he believed in Jesus and he loved what we were doing. That this homeless community needed salvation. We asked if we could pray for him and he was so excited about it. As Madison (squad leader) began to pray, this man collapsed on his knees. The floor was filled with glass and his free drink (from the refuge) flew out of his hand. He began to weep and weep some more. This man felt the presence of God. This man experienced the reckless pursuit of the Father. He was being set free. He asked for Jesus to forgive him of his sins. He asked for protection over his family. And he just kept weeping, on his knees, before the Father.
This was a beautiful moment of a man who understood grace. Before we left, I asked God to let me see with His eyes and He did.
He showed me His child.
He showed me the kind of person He would hang out with.
He showed me a man who fell at the feet of Jesus.
He showed me the 1 out of the 99.
It was humbling and refreshing to see this kind of humility and hunger for the Gospel. This was a miracle. The miracle of a man who would humbly fall on his knees and just want Jesus. I will never forget this man. I will never forget the love I saw through him.
I am so honored God let me be apart of this. So many miracles have happened since then and I am so excited to share what the Lord is doing here in Medellin, Colombia. God is amazing and friends, He is moving.
Everywhere you look, GOD IS ON THE MOVE.
