Hey Guys!
My name is Shelby Gilbert and I am 24 years old from Knox, Indiana. Yes, you guessed it, home of cornfields and more cornfields. But guys! They are sooo pretty! Especially when the sun is setting right at about 8:00 pm (central time). Seriously though, just thinking about it makes me really happy! I also, love when the sun is in the most perfect spot to come in between trees! I know that sounds weird, but I just love it.
I have an amazing support system. My family and friends mean the world to me. They are a big reason of why I am able to write this “about me” section. You all know who you are, and I just wanted to take a second and say thank you and I love you guys!
For the past six years I lived in South Carolina though, where I graduated from Southern Wesleyan University (SWU). This place is very near and dear to me because I have never been more challenged when it comes to developing and growing my relationship with Christ. I played college basketball, and I had THE best coaches and mentors. I chose a school 12 hours away from home just for basketball. However, my coaches taught me and reminded me over and over that my identity is not in basketball or any earthly thing, but in Christ.
And about a couple weeks ago I took a leap of faith and re-applied, yes you heard right, re-applied for The World Race. Now I am just watching God unfold it all and challenge me daily when it comes to trusting Him through this whole process. I can’t wait to share with you guys all that God is doing through me, through my team, and even through the world!
