So as you might have guessed from Facebook, my parents came and visited me on the field last week. It was both awesome and weird to have my mom and dad serve alongside me in ministry. During the time that they were with me, they were able to experience some of what we have been doing for the past 8 months, including something we call “treasure hunting.”

Treasure hunting is when you pray and ask the Lord for a vision, picture, word, etc. for who and where and what He has in store for you that day. After you hear from the Lord (but sometimes you don’t) you head out and go on a “treasure hunt” for whatever He has put on your heart.

That day we had a session on ATL (which I actually taught!) & then were sent out to go “treasure hunt.”

I can’t remember everything that was said in our group, but I can recall my mom had a vision of a woman pushing her child in a stroller (which we did see later on, and were able to chat with) and Kathryn’s dad who had a vision of a woman in a white dress. For me, I saw the color maroon.

So fast forward to later that day when we were out and about doing the dang thing- We had just turned and started to walk down a street when I heard the Spirit say “stop.” (If anything I have learned to listen to the HS when He speaks) I turned and there SHE was…  the woman in the white dress with MAROON lipstick. (I mean come on!!) I quickly and energetically said “hello!” (no shocker) which she returned just as enthusiastically. I then asked her if she spoke English, and she did! This started a long conversation about everything and absolutely anything, along with her sister. We found out they were fellow believers (how cool is that?!) and were looking for an apartment. We needed to head back for dinner, but exchanged contact information & prayed over their apartment hunting. I shared with her how the Lord had led me to her through what He had revealed to me that morning. (which was hard for them to wrap their minds around) We also invited them to come to our session the following evening & they agreed to come!

We came to find out later that after we prayed over their apartment hunting, they prayed as well. They asked the Lord if we were honest people that they could trust, for the Lord to provide them with a place to stay. Y’all the Lord showed up!!

They came to the next evening session, were able to worship with us, as well as hearing some of the testimonies that have happened over the past 8 months. Following the session, they shared that the Lord had answered their prayers, as well as ours! They had many questions just about what we were doing, our relationship with the Lord, and how we heard from Him. So me and one of my squad mates Leah were able to take them out for gelato and have great conversation! It was so amazing to show my parents how faithful the Lord is and how He speaks. Not only that, but God had opened the eyes of these women to show them how relational He is & how He desires to speak to all of us.

Man, the Lord is so stinkin’ rad.
