Change is inevitable and change seems to be the theme this season of my life. The past 6 months have presented changes in housing, cities, jobs, and proximity to community. Six months ago I planned on living in Bloomington until January. Six months ago I became a graduate of IU with no job, student loan debt, and a big fundraising goal for this trip. Six months ago I was surrounded by community. Now I sit in my parent’s house, putting away my laundry in preparation for a busy week at work. I am thankful for the warm home I live in and the fact that I have a job. I also just arrived home from a 4 hour drive to St. Louis to visit some friends. It was wonderful catching up with old friends. My fundraising is also flying along, God is providing, and I am so humbled by the number $13,312. (Thank you everyone for your support! I am only 18% away!!) In 2 months I plan to uproot my life again, packing all my belongings into my 65 liter pack traveling around the world with my beautiful N Squad family.
One of my squad mates shared this quote with me at training camp: The only constant is change.
This week we got an email from our mobilizer about a route change. This is something that is very common with the World Race. With so much happening in the world, new ministry contact relationships being formed daily with world race squads in the field, etc., route changes happen, and for some groups they happen often.
So…drum roll please!
Our new route (in no particular order) is:
Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malawi, Zambia, MOZAMBIQUE, Ireland, Bulgaria, Moldova & Romania.
I am overjoyed for the opportunities God is going to provide in Mozambique and for the people we will meet along the way.
With Love,
Shelby
