This picture sums it up: a church full of women and 1 man standing on the outside unsure if he's ready to step up and come inside. I scan the room, There are 89 females and 8 males present.
Where are the men of God?
I don't why this ratio shocked me because its the same way in America.
Looking back I remember almost 90% of all my past mission trip members were women. Heck, even the world race is no different; We have 48 people on our Beloved B squad and only 10 are male.
It's a global wide epidemic and one that is holding the world back from the great love of Jesus.
If you're one of those men that make up the 10% I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for stepping out into the lifestyle that God has called you into. Thank you for doing what is unpopular. Thank you for being led by Jesus. Thank you for being strong and courageous.
For the other 90% of you I want to scream, "WAKE UP!" Seriously, what the heck are you waiting for? If you belong to Jesus you should be living for Him. You should be setting the example by being a light to your homes and to the nations. Being strong and courageous isn't a suggestion from God- it's a demand.
You might be reading this thinking I'm being to harsh but let me remind you of the words of Jesus:
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven." -Matthew 7: 21
This verse isn't solely for men, but with it you get the picture. Men, if you can't be led by God now, you won't be able to lead your wife or your family later. If you truly want to be all that you can be you better arise and step out now. Don't just have nice words to say, get up and walk into the man God called you to be.
Now, let me holler at the women. I speak from experience when I say this: do not settle for that 90%- it will only lead to disappointment and heartbreak. Also don't "missionary date" it doesn't work. If they aren't listening to the voice of God I can guarantee you they won't listen to your voice either. Wait on God and get lost in Him. The 10% is out there and they are becoming the men of God that He has called them to be. It's worth the wait to hold out for the 10%.
Notice I said wait on God. But don't put your life on hold for a man. Women, if God is calling you to the nations: GO! Don't you dare stay put waiting for some man to 'make you complete' before you share his love with the nations. Become the woman God called you to be and trust his timing. If you can't fall in love with Jesus and allow him to be enough for you- no man will ever be enough for you either. Allow Abba to romance you and show you what true love really is, so that when he puts the 10% along your path you will recognize the different kind of love inside him that can only come from Jesus.
"I am still confident of this; I will see the goodness of The Lord in the land of the living. Wait for The Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for The Lord." -Psalm 27:13-14
