Bags have been packed, unpacked, repacked, and double checked. "See you laters" have been said. Tears have been shed. My 47 member family has reunited. It's here, it's real, and it's happening.
The World Race.
It's much more than a trek around the world. It's much more than meeting physical needs of the hungry, the poor, the sick. It's a journey that began months ago, and is now taking launch onto foreign soil. And I'm stoked.
The first soil we land on is in CAPETOWN, South Africa. We will be partnering with a sports ministry that reaches underprivileged and orphaned children with the love of Jesus through sports. It is going to be incredible, and I cannot wait to soak up every beautiful moment The Lord has prepared for us.
This begins a journey that will draw me into the presence of the Almighty Jesus in ways that I never thought possible. It's going to be a journey that I will invite others into so that they can intimately feel the presence of my savior.
It's about love. About extending the love Jesus shows me to those I come in contact with. But in order to extend, I must first receive what God has for me.
My prayer for these next 11 months is that Jesus will reek havoc and change me drastically. My desire is for Him to continually transform the way I love Him, the way I love those I come in contact with in ministry, and the way I love my team mates from day to day. It all boils down to love, and the love of Christ should set me apart:
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”– John 13:34-35
Please continue to shower your amazing love by joining me in prayer for our travel safeties as today we begin the long flight and bus ride. Pray for the hearts of the people in Capetown. Pray for our host families and the conversations and relationships that will be a product of their hospitality and opening of their home.Pray for God to guide us, and that we would be obedient as he shows us needs amongst the community.
God is good. God is faithful.
Trust Him wherever you are in your journey, whether its a season of sowing, reaping, mourning, rejoicing, waiting, or pursuing. He has something to teach us, and we learn the most when we choose to journey with Him. Today would you ask Him where He wants you to journey, and then would you obey and walk in the presence of His perfect love?
