Wow, April has come and gone so fast!

It has been over a month now since I have been accepted for the World Race in January, and I’ve only blogged two times since then. Time to do a little update:

Since April 1st (World Race stuff):

  • I completed my first fundraiser of selling t-shirts and raised over $250! WOW!
  • I now have just over $500 in my WR account.
  • Sent out over 50 support letters to friends and family.
  • Began researching equipment I need (registry soon to come!)
  • Had my first online meet-up with some of my squad mates.
  • Met two other racers from Southern Miss who are planning on embarking in September/August! It’s so nice to have others who are going through the same things you are.
  • Debating on changing my route to July 2016 (waiting on routes to be released, more info to come on this)
  • Finally met with my mentor – she’s awesome.
  • Thought about many blog post topics, didn’t actually write any.

The last few weeks (personal life)

  • I am now in my LAST FINALS WEEK. Can it be over yet?
  • Had my last “day on the job” at both Crescent City Grill and Jump’In Gymnastics.
  • Watched my best friend get baptized last Sunday.
  • Began packing up my home in Mississippi to move back to Ohio in a few days.
  • Hung up my Eno whenever I got the chance.
  • Sent in the last of my paperwork for my internship starting May 18th.
  • Meeting up with friends, some this will be the last time I will see them… ):
  • Trying to enjoy my last few weeks living in the South without school getting in the way.

Whats in store for May

  • Like I mentioned earlier, starting my Kinesiotherapy internship May 18th!
  • Moving back home to Ohio in less than a week.
  • Reuniting with friends from home!
  • Time to get some more fundraising planned (be on the look-out for a Yard Sale!)
  • Job hunting.

Seeing April just flash before my eyes makes me realize that before I know it I will be boarding a plane for the World Race! I have so much more to do and plan before that all happens. As soon as my finals are over, its no longer school-mode… I will be full time World Race-mode! Saving money, fundraising, and shopping for supplies will be all I will be able to think about!

Until then, wish me luck with finals!
