Dear friends and family,

I just got off the phone with the missions agency I will be working with next year for the music ministry in Tyre, Lebanon and I am SO PUMPED to see everything the Lord has lined up leading up to that, and that includes going back out on the field for round two of the WR to be a part of the leadership team!!!

This update though made in bits and pieces over the last few weeks through different social media posts…is overdue – so here it is officially!

I just wrapped up with an eleven month trip around the world that started in Spain and ended in China to proclaim the gospel to those in the 10/40 window, the most unreached region of the world for Jesus. I can’t even begin to describe all the ways that the reality of Jesus and His kingdom came flooding into my world as I did life in teams of 4-6 arranged out of 28 peers, and sporadically visited by 9 amazing leaders of God including those who came back to alumni team or squad lead, and our mentor and coaches. I learned that one of the most effective ways of sharing Jesus was as simple as letting others into the way that we did life with one another. Amidst each of our messes, our brokenness, somehow Jesus was able to show through our group dynamics and I was surprised (and I shouldn’t be surprised) to find that the friends we made overseas took notice and even commented on it. From the way that a team of us taught English to locals, to the way that we cleaned up the kitchen of our guesthouse, to the way that we unabashedly worshipped the Lord with our whole hearts and our loudest voices, Jesus’ presence was apparent. Through the last eleven months, I have faith that many seeds were planted, many plants were watered, and we even got to witness some accept Jesus into their lives as Lord and Savior. Thank you endlessly for all your support of this time.

As the most current thing on the docket, I have the privilege between now and going to Lebanon next year, to be a part of the alumni leadership team for another World Race team, Y-Squad! We will be launching in August and serving for three months in China, Nepal and India! Sincerely asking for your prayers to steward this privilege well and with the Lord’s guidance.

For these upcoming plans to serve, I am asking for your prayerful and serious consideration to partner with me in a longer term capacity to build His kingdom in the Middle East and Asia. For team leading for Y-Squad, I need to raise $5000. If you would like to make a monthly contribution or a one time donation, you can donate through this blog page. Or you can write a check to the following address making sure you write down my Appeal ID, which is: “CHANSHELA.”

(I will share more about Lebanon fundraising as that gets nearer!)

I am currently training for a super sprint triathlon as a part of the Seafair Triathlon event on 7/21 to raise funds for this second round of the World Race. As of a most recent decision, I will be opting for the shortest course that involves swimming 1/4 mi, biking 12 miles, and running 5 miles. I would love to have your support!

Will keep you all posted moving forward, thank you for reading!!
