It was turning a corner with the new year. Now the World Race was looming over the horizon with a brighter and brighter intensity and the lense I was looking at it through was sharpening into focus. Having taken on a 21 Day Daniel Fast with my squad mates, the removal of usual routine comforts in the form of familiar food and drink reminded me of the many things I’d have to give up when launch date would come. It started to hit home just how big of a step out of my comfort zone it’d be going on the World Race.

But just like He said would, as I stepped out in faith with my weakness in the form of this fast, He met me there. The purpose of the fast to draw nearer to the Lord had really come into fulfillment. Kicking off with a Holy Spirit revival night led by Pastor Eric Gonyon of Dr. Rodney Howard Browne’s ministry just before I started my fasting, I was renewed by the fire of God and was sweetly reminded of the importance of the power of the Holy Spirit alongside the Word of God. From then on, the Lord had been showing me step by step more of how to grow in my walk with him. Within the last few weeks, he had instilled in me a greater hunger for prayer, and more of an urgency for reaching out to those in need. He was showing me the many things I could do while still here in Washington, that if my squadmates and I are to do impromptu street ministry and talk to strangers in Morocco, then surely I could reach out to more people around the Seattle area.
