I really wanted to blog about the Catalyst conference last week but now it’s almost Training Camp time. Here is a short summary of Catalyst to tide you over until I get a chance to post more details: A.Maz.Ing. Yup. That’s pretty much it.
Ok, now for the actual update…
It’s a little after midnight and I’ve just (mostly) finished packing my 2 backpacks for training camp. Yay me! I was pleasantly surprised to find that my big backpack is weighing in at 43 pounds right now. Quite a bit lighter than I expected. It’s weird to think that I’ll be able to live out of this relatively small bit of space for the next year. I’m glad we’ll be getting a little taste of that over the next week to get used to it.
Training camp will last from the 16th until the 24th. I’m carpooling down with another local World Racer and will get to meet all of my fellow squad mates! I’m so nervous and excited because this is also the week where we’ll find out who our small family of 6-8 people will be next year!!
We’ll be doing all sorts of vague activities throughout the week but I’m pretty sure it’s going to include team building, eating dirt, trying new foods, learning about new cultures, drinking coffee, learning more things and awesome worship times! I think I may have the opportunity to blog at some point during camp so keep your ears open.
Please keep Scott and I in your prayers as we travel to and from Gainesville this week as well as all the other Racers converging on the same campground. Pray for the teams being formed and for those that are forming them. Just pretty much keep us in your prayers. 🙂
You all are spectacular human beings.
Goodnight.
