Hi friends and family,
Welcome to my second World Race blog post, I hope you all are doing fantastic! It’s been a little while since my first post, so I wanted to update you on how everything is going and how God has been working in my life. 🙂
First of all… I have reached my 70% financial goal, which is HUGE!! I absolutely would not be where I am right now without your support; it means everything to have such a steadfast community of people walking alongside me on this journey. So, with all of my heart, THANK YOU!
Secondly, as most of you have probably noticed, it is now 2020. The start of a new decade. God has been at work in my heart this year, dramatically changing the way that I think about Him, others, and myself.
I decided to take a lighter academic load this semester (although I’m still trudging through anatomy) and that has been wonderful. I started making room in my schedule again to spend time with the Lord, play worship music on my guitar and piano, work with kids, train for a triathlon, and spend quality time with family and friends. I am currently taking the Cats train to and from campus (an hour each way) to save money on parking. At first I thought this would be a huge time suck. I quickly realized how wrong I was when I saw the sun rise over the city of Charlotte on the first morning of classes this semester.
All in all, I have much to be thankful for. I always have, but in the past I’ve had so much on my plate that I didn’t often take the time to stop and think about it. The simple (but sometimes difficult) practice of being present in the moment has reduced my anxiety immensely.
We can’t do the work in our own hearts, and we can’t “will” ourselves to juggle everything in our lives perfectly without letting anything fall between the cracks. What we can do is show up and be present to what God is revealing to us.
Thank you for reading this blog post and for all of your support! Please continue to pray for my team and I as June approaches- that we would follow God’s guidance as he prepares us to serve in the Philippines.
Financially speaking, I still need to raise $1,300 by the end of May in order to go on the trip. If you or someone you know would like to donate, here is my online donation link: https://www.adventures.org/give/donate.asp?giveto=partFund&selected=Semesters&desc=Aviana%20Morgan&appeal_id=MORGANAVIANA.
If you’d like to be notified when I post another update, please subscribe and enter your email address! Thanks so much 🙂
On Mission with Him,
