My First(s) in Africa

Thank you for continuing to follow along with my blog entries.
I cannot say enough how thankful I am for your prayers, donations, and your words of encouragement. My total funds has reached approximately $10,700 and I have been able to do ministry in Central America and now Africa thanks to you. In order to continue I need to raise the difference which is an additional 8k aproximately.

The best ways to help me would be to donate to via the link on this blog page or share my journey and blog information with people you think maybe able to help. The goal needs to be reached by January 31st or I will have to return home.

Let me share with you some of my “Firsts In Africa”…

This month we are partnering with a ministry called Africa for Jesus. The vision was birth in Kimberley, SA and the founder chose to send our host Peter to Lesotho. This branch of the ministry is in the valley of Lesotho called Malealea. Everywhere you look on base is surrounded by beautiful mountains, farmland and blue skies with fluffy white clouds. It’s like a post card come to life but unfortunately wifi is limited so not many pictures this month.

I never imagined being here in Africa chasing my first calf as he runs to catch up with the herd.

Learning my first words in the Lesotho language.

Forming a super team with “Daughter Zion”;another team of 7 on our squad.

Doing hut to hut ministry where families shared their heart openly, feed us, and gave us warm hugs.

Having perpetually dirty feet because we walk anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to get to local villages.

Worshiping beneath a starlight sky because there was no light for at least 20-30minutes away from you.

Using a “long drop”; you squat over a hole in the middle of a concrete throne that drops off to darkness.

Becoming a lighter shade of brown due to being covered in clay dirt after weeding corn, bean, pumpkin, and sunflower crops in the field.

Being told by an Afrikaner, this was their first time talking to a brown person in English.

Having people approach me constantly speaking their native langauge.

Hanging out with a group of children in a neighboring village for an hour or more dancing and singing playful songs.
