Today we finally have extended time with the internet and a good connection. I just thought I’d write a quick little blog to just let you know of the events that have been going on here.
We have continued to do work with those who have Jiggers. We have heard that those we have treated have been able to sleep well and to eat well which is a huge praise! I had begun to question whether or not our work was being successful. We will continue this work for the rest of the month and we will begin doing door to door ministry next week.
We meet a family while doing Jiggers ministry which broke my heart. I learned this family was made up of about 7 children who’s mother left them. The neighbor was caring for them and they were covered in Jiggers. Not one of them had a pair of shoes.
I immediately felt that we needed to buy them shoes and so my team pulled together to do so. I was so excited to be able to bless this family with 7 pairs of shoes! (See Pic here)
During one of our rest days the girls took the day to get their hair done and the boys traveled to some place called The Crying Stone. It took 3 hours and 3 to 4 packages of hair to make us look “African” with braids. 🙂 We are loving it. (see pic here)
