Sometimes our contacts just want to bless us in whatever way
they know how. Usually it is with food like bananas or mangos or pineapples. Or
sometimes it’s with gifts like scarfs or shirts or skirts or bags. “Today it
was a blessing of wedding proportion” as my teammate Lilli describes.
Our contact’s wife is a cosmetologist. She does hair, nails,
makeup and dresses for weddings and wanted to bless us with her talents. We
arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon thinking we were just going to get our nails
done. Then she pulled out a chair and make up was applied. Then, as our
students started arriving thinking they were having English class, she pointed
at Lilli’s shirt and raised her arms as if saying “Shirt off” and quickly we
realized we were getting dressed up. After over 4 hours of prep time the party
started and this was the result!
