Hey all! Terribly sorry that I have not posted a blog in… yeah… sorry.
Ok, so India. Awesome. Incredible. Humbling.
My whole squad was partnered with a ministry called Partnership Missions, founded by Dr. Rochunga Pudaite. Amazing man of God. A little background:
Gosh I don’t even know where to start without out practically plagiarizing Dr. Ro’s books. Basically, his father was the first convert to Christianity. They are a part of the Hmar tribe. Dr. Ro’s father then became the first Hmar preacher. Dr. Ro, at the age of ten, was dedicated to translate the bible into the Hmar language. Upon agreeing to take on this task Dr. Ro went through a series of events that grew his faith immensely. He went to school in India, Scotland, and my all time favortire… Wheaton! Dr. Ro lived a crazy faith-filled life. His stories are amazing. You should definitely read his books.
Anyway, so Dr. Ro founded Partnership Missions and Bibles For The World. These two ministries are huge, and not just in India. They have schools, hospitals, etc. Some of our teams were doing medical camps, and some of us (my team) partnered with surrounding schools. My team went up into the mountains to Lungthulien. We had such an amazingly blessed time! All in all, I feel like I left learning more and having been blessed more than I could possibly reciprocate.
We led hostel devotions, we spoke at church, we helped the kids write to sponosors, taught them dances, and we had an awesome game days at the end of the month. It was a really cool experienced. They served us as much as we tried to serve them. They taught us as much as we were teaching them. There was a lot of laughter and more love. I can’t begin to tell you just how amazing these people are.
The students’ faiths challenged mine. I watched them fall on their faces humbling themselves before the Lord. I watched them pray with such earnest devotion for the lost. They didn’t pray for their circumstances. They prayed for the lost people that they haven’t met, and even those who they know they won’t meet. They asked the Lord for His kingdom, and truly believe that He is going to give it to them. I walked passed their hostels and listened to them just sings songs to Him. I watched them listen intently to messages given by us and by their spiritual leaders. I watched them seek the Lord in every aspect of their lives.
I watched in humbling amazement.
These students called me higher. I walked away having learned more from God through them than they could’ve ever learned from me. I am humbled and challenged. And that’s all I can say. I really have no words to express our experience. On the outside it looked like we just danced a lot, but I promise you that there was so much spiritual growth happening for all throughout the entire month.
Also… I made a video!
