A quick tutorial on what this thing The World Race, is all about, for my Grandma.
What exactly is the World Race?
-Just think, 11 countries in 11 months, to serve "the least of these" in real, raw community. A Christian mission trip where we will abandon all the securities and comforts of life as we know it in order to serve the Lord and his Kingdom. So, Grandma, we will be traveling with literally only our backpacks, sleeping bags, a couple changes of cloths, some hygeine products and eachother.
What will you be doing in these countries?
-Every day will be different. Everyday will be a challenge Im sure but all for the glory of God. We will be serving each community in that way in which they need; construction, VBS, working at orphanges or praying over sick children at hospitals. Every day will be focused on being a part of Gods Kingdom work.
Why?
-Because there is more than the normal 9-5. Because I love the Lord so much that I take literally, when He commands us to sacrafice our lives in order to take care of eachother and to "Go and make diciples of all nations". Because He has transformed my heart and my life and placed upon it the conviction to lose my life for His will. Because I am one of the radicals of this generation who wants to see the world changed "through the tangible expressions of Gods love".
Where will you be going?
-I am on route 3 of the January 2013 team. This route takes us to, China, Philippines, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Albania, Romania, India, Uganda, Kenya & Tanzania.
What can you do to help me?
-Ok, so the trip costs $15,000. I know, I know, a pretty big number right??! Well, if 200 people give $75 I will be fully funded. If 150 people give $100 I will be fully funded. You see where Im going right?! The donations given covers the costs once the trip begins; food, lodging, and air, land and sea travel. Alongside monetary donations prayer is a necessity(Grams I know you have a circle of ladies who are prayer warriors). <3
Deadlines:
-$3500 due Septermber 29, 2012 (two weeks before training camp)
-$6500 due December 18, 2012 (2 weeks prior to the launch)
-$11,000 due April 1, 2013 (End of 3 months on the field)
-$15,500 due July 1, 2013 (End of 7 month on the field)
