So we came to Romania excited, nervous and unsure what to expect. See, it’s the beginning of the fourth month. And here on the World Race, you know what that means. Team changes. This is the time in the Race when new squad leaders are raised from the team leaders, new team leaders are established and team switches and changes are made as the squad leaders are led by the Lord.
So I come to you today to announce my new team…..
Team Abundant L.I.F.E. (Life, Intimacy, Fire and Eyes)
You want to know why this team is special??? Because we are the only all-girl team on the P-squad! What up sucka! =D
This team has six essential parts, and like a body we cannot function without any of us. I am blessed to say that Kayla Thomas (our team leader), Christy Zbylut and Aubrie Wooden, all previous members of Team Hinds’ Feet, have continued as part of my family. Our new family is now complete with Megan Dietrich and Laura Ludwick.
I’m not gonna lie, being on an all-girls team was not what I had in mind. Back at training camp, I remember seeing all of the guys on our squad and thinking: “Eh, I think I’m safe from being on an all girls team.” Wrong. I was almost safe. In fact, there was not even supposed to be an all-girls team. Logistically, it just wasn’t neccesary or desired because there are enough guys on our squad to have two on each of the ten teams. But God must have some big plans for our team, because Kyla, Janina and Kim (our squad leaders) felt led specifically to make us an all-girls team, even though as a whole they do not incline towards that concept. And we have had incredible support from our squad! We are pretty sure they are seeing us in the Spirit, because when people found out we were the all-girl team, they looked at us in awe and called out in us what we haven’t even seen yet: we are a powerful team of six mighty women of God, and He has made us more than conquerors.
Now it is a time of both joy and sadness, sadness because this means I have lost two brothers from my team, but joy because Lucas has been lifted up into a position as a team leader, with Jeremy as a member of his new team. Leadership is a quality that our whole team has been recognizing and calling out in him for the last three months, so it is super exciting and almost a proud moment for all of us to see him step into what the Lord has for him in that role.
So here I take moment to honor the family I have had for the last 3 months; the family that tore down walls, challenged me, encouraged me, called out my giftings and recognized my callings, the family that teased me, tormented me and listened to me patiently when I just needed to vent. This is the family that has witnessed all of the change since I started this journey and never gave up on me. That family was Team Hinds’ Feet.
And now I introduce you to my new family; not to replace the old, but to move us all into a new season, a new leg of this race. These are my sisters who I will be serving alongside and pouring into just as much as I pour into our ministry sites. And I declare we are mighty warriors, intimate lovers of God and strong women of faith and the gates of hell cannot prevail against us! Go Team Abundant LIFE!!!!!!!!!
