Thanksgiving.  Eat too much.  Sleep all day.  Watch football.
How ’bout go on an African safari?  That’s what I did.
It was awesome, nothing like bouncing around the back of a van, leaning out one window and then bouncing across to the other one to see warthogs, impala, elephants and hippos.  An African sunset ended the day perfectly… I tell you there is something different about sunsets here in Africa.  They are almost too vibrant, too colorful to be real.  But they are real.  And I love them.
But our true Thanksgiving was 2 days before.  We were able to bless our hosts and ministry contacts with our own American Thanksgiving dinner!  Teams Abundant LIFE and Walking Third worked together to produce an amazing meal, pooling family recipes, searching out ingredients we needed and putting a lot of effort into recreating the holiday that so many of us love.  Despite our inability to find a turkey, (very much disappointing the boys’ hopes of slaughtering the animal before roasting) chicken was a wonderful suppliment, accompanied by Stacey’s stuffing, Tommy’s incredible sweet potato casserole, Christy’s apple pie and many, many more delicious dishes.  I was honored with the opportunity to make my Dad’s favorite dessert: banana cream pie.  Though due to my lack of cooking skills, most of the rest of my imput for the meal was menial labor such as peeling potatoes and washing dishes, it was special to make that dish in honor of my Dad. 🙂
But while we are being thankful, I just wanted to send a shout out to all of my supporters.

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE!!!

Without you, I would not be able to be here.  Without you, I would never have met Veronica in the Czech Republic, Denisa in Romania or Pilirani here in Malawi.  Without you, I would not have been placed on two teams who are encouraging me and challenging me to become more of the woman that God has called me to be.  Without you, I would not be where I am today: physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally.  Without you, I would not have been able to be a part of this incredible ministry that I love so much.
Thank you for enabling me to be the hands and feet of Christ to these nations.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
