Daughter of the king

Once upon a time there was a daughter of a King. A princess… But don't call her that cause she thinks that is too girly. This daughter loved her father dearly. They lived in a castle and he protected her from all things possible. This king was fierce and strong, but his heart would melt at the sound of his daughter calling her daddy.

The two would spend all their time together. They would play in the grass, and swim in the pond. They would ride horses into the forest and see what adventures they could pursue together.

One day the "princess" decided to wander off into the forest alone. She had never done this before. It was here she encountered the snake. This snake was different than her father…it spoke to her of things her father never did speak of. These things made the daughter of the king question her beloved daddy. Her heart broke a little that day.

When she emerged from the forest, the little daughter of the King felt different when she greeted her daddy. Something felt off, not quite right. Her father noticed the change in her and asked her what was the matter. She told him everything.

His heart broke.

The next day the daughter of the king returned to the forest. Unsure what attracted her to this place. This time she encountered a man. This man was charming and handsome. He spoke with elegance and glam. Her heart pounded and her eyes longed for him.

The king watched from afar as his daughter wandered far from him and his place for her. The daughter did not return to her father and his castle that evening, or the evening after that.

The father wept.

When the princess returned her clothes were stained and torn. She was unable to look her father in the eye. Her heart had been stolen by the man who deceived her.

Her father wept… His heart broke. This was not the destiny he had for his princess.
He developed a plan. His beloved would not be stained forever. He began to heal.

Forgiveness blossomed.

As the father embraced his daughter in his arms, the snake and the man emerged from the forest. They spoke to the princess. They told her of her past. The lies, the defilement. Shame, lust, and hate welled inside the heart of the daughter of the king.

At that moment the king spoke. Words of life, forgiveness, grace, and love. The snake and the man began to pull at the princess, but the king stepped in between. His words were fierce and strong. He claimed the defilement, the shame, the lust, the hate and sacrificed himself in her stead.

Immediately her clothes were transformed and were no longer torn and stained. The man and the snake fled back into the depth of the forest, but the king was no longer alive. The snake had bit the king with his deadly poison.

The daughters heart broke.
She shed her first tear.
She pleaded for her father to return.

With a dove, pure and white, landing on the kings lifeless body, breath returned to the king. Slowly he rose and embraced his daughter.

It was in that moment both hearts were restored. The daughter of the king knew the value and love of her father. They were never separated again.
