I've been told a couple of times that I break all stereotypes. When people say this it's usually with a confused look on their face, but I choose to believe it's a compliment. One of my dear friends recently told me that I'm a walking oxymoron, because I do a lot of random and unexpected things. I tend to be shy but I can also be really outgoing and take intiative, so I'm not really sure how to describe myself?
I've lived in Greenville, SC nearly all of my life, actually the only other place I've lived was Santiago, Chile for a couple of years when I was 5-6 years old. I was blessed to travel and begin to see the world at a very young age. The Lord has used these experiences to grow my heart for the nations and prepare me for what is next! The Lord has shown me how diverse yet the same the world is, and has taught me to focus on similarities rather than differences. And I have amazing friends all over the world!
I have a wonderful mother, who is foremost my best friend. She's a stong follwer of Christ and I really look up to her. It's been cool to see how the Lord has shaped and remolded our relationship over the past several years putting Himself at the center of it. She's not thrilled at the idea of me traveling the world for 11 months, but is supportive of me chasing after the Lord's will. I am an only child. Growing up I always wished for siblings to play with, but now I'm grateful to be an only child because I think it has allowed the closeness in my relationship with my mom. My parents have been divorced for about two years now, and the Lord really used this to strip me of my identity being in a lot of things other than Him (but that's a longer story for another time). I really do love my dad, and though we have a hard time understanding each other I am very grateful for all he has done for me. The Lord has also blessed me with a great group of close friends that are also my family.
I am currently a senior at Furman University, where I am majoring in music. My main instrument is the flute, and I love playing it. It's taken me many years to be able to truley worship the Lord through music, because it used to be a source of anxiety and competitiveness, but the Lord has faithfully redeemed that.

And I belive that for me going on the World Race is being obedient and stepping in to the next stage of his plan for my life. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!
