Over 100 Muslim men cram into the small
church in Morogoro. Each of them hailing his every word. He paces the floor
with a filthy confidences presuming he knows something we don’t. He laughs at
our responses with deceit on his face.
He is Jesus.
Not the Savior who many of us have come
to know! No. This man has a different perspective. This man was the ring leader to
this Islamic chaos that took place at his jeering words of manipulation toward our
Christian faith. Jesus is a man no older than 35. He is a studied Muslim in the
Qur’an which is impressive for Africa, but his education didn’t end there. He
was well versed in the Holy Bible and also the Catholic Bible. Which, if you
don’t know includes 6 additional books from the Apocrypha (Religious text
excluded from the Bible). Jesus (Who I will now call Bob), knew this.

had all been invited to take part in a semi-formal debate over Christianity.

day of evangelizing when they first met Bob and his students. These
students and their many friends would all be in attendance.

was tested from both sides of the room. There were times when we had to restrain
one another from yelling in outrage.
It’s not easy listening to a man manipulate the words of Jesus. Listening to Muslims try and prove Jesus was a Muslim because He prostrated Himself. It’s
not easy listening to Bob read half a scripture then lie to the crowd when the
second half reveals all the truth.We boiled with righteous anger in silence.
But we had our chance to speak.
And boy did we.
Each shot Bob and his two
apprentices took at the Bible a member of the Body was filled with the exact
words to counter the lies and restore the room with Light! To travel with a
group of Christians for nearly 10 months and work with many of them side by
side; I felt that I knew them. But on this Saturday afternoon I saw something
else. I saw a true form of Christianity and a Body of Christ standing in the
gap and fighting for Truth! Uncovering lies boldly squelching the fiery arrows
of the oppressor to poor out the beautiful story of our Savior who stood in a
similar atmosphere many years before.

We need more Bibles!
smiles and questions. Many stayed to greet us. Many of them asking for Bibles for there own! Over a dozen men asked me for a
Bible to take home, but we had nothing to give them. Every extra Bible has been handed out. We need more. With a faithful heart we gathered email addresses to provide a load of them to the students.
Muslim men crave to know the Truth and read it for themselves! These
are the men who will be leading the government here in Africa. These
are the men who will write the laws of the future! East
Africa needs Bibles.
