Wow, I still cannot believe that I’m going on the Race! The more I think about it the more humbled I am.
This post is to answer the oh so common “You’re doing what?! In how many countries?! In 11 months?!” response when I tell people that I’m doing the Race. Here it is in a nutshell: where I’m going and what I’m doing!
Where I’m Going
One of my squad mates, Bailie Pedigo, shared this awesome video of her painting the 11 countries where we’ll be serving which are: Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Rwanda, Uganda, South Sudan, India, Nepal, Ukraine, and Romania. The more I learn about my team the more excited I am to meet them! As you can see she’s a super talented artist!
What I’m Doing
During my 11 months on the World Race I’ll be living amongst real and raw community. Me and my team will each have nothing but a backpack and will no doubt get to know each other intimately. Together we will partner with a different organization in each country to serve people. While I don’t know the details of each ministry we’ll be working with, the work of past and current Racers include teaching English, church planting, construction projects, and supporting victims of human trafficking. I am looking forward to not only serving in a variety of ways, but also to doing so in community among many nations and tribes.
I am so blessed by this opportunity and thanks again for your support!
