An original Happy Father’s Day poem to you Daddy from me!
Dear Daddy,
For some, you are only their shepherd, pastor, confidante, spiritual leader
For me, you are Daddy
You are the father I wished all of my friends who didn’t have a father growing up had
You showed me by example to be consistent, steady, stedfast
You taught me to never give up on the things that matter
You taught me to keep pursuing God through the hills and valleys, through the good days and the bad
You taught me that one of the best tools in life is one’s mind/knowledge
You provided for me even when I didn’t deserve it
You taught me to encourage myself with scripture
You taught me to work hard and laugh hard, and vacation hard only after you’ve worked hard
You taught me to pray, pray, and keep on praying
You taught me to be courageous
You taught me to seek first His kingdom
You taught me that life is not fair, but it’s fine because God is just and has the final say
This is a short list
Not in any order
There’s so much more I could say
All good things
All the lessons, from Calculus to Scripture to World History
But here in this moment
All I can say is
I love you
Happy Father’s Day!
Love,
Sharon
